Crochet a perfect fall or winter accessory or make the perfect handmade gift with this roundup of twenty hat and scarf crochet patterns!
“Kindness is loaning someone your strength not reminding them of their weakness.”
Unknown
As if you needed a great reason to crochet, I’ve got several for you!
Crocheting has many benefits. Helping with insomnia, reducing stress and anxiety, and boosting self esteem are all benefits of crochet. When we crochet, not only are we experiencing all of these amazing benefits, but we also have the opportunity to benefit someone else with our finished project!
In the summer of 2020, Ashley of Edyth Blayn teamed up with some other amazing designers and organized Crochet for a Cause. Each Monday that summer, we gave away free PDF patterns of hats and scarves to crocheters everywhere to make it easy and simple for others to donate their makes to local hospitals and shelters. We wanted to spread some joy and kindness during a time when many were struggling with the problems going on in the world.
Now that the event is over, we have a great list of twenty hat and scarf crochet patterns that can be used as market prep if you are a small business crochet maker, handmade gifts if you are a hobbyist crocheter, OR items to donate if you are looking for an opportunity to help someone in need.
I am a firm believer that doing something to help others will ease a lot of the symptoms I mentioned earlier that are so often a result of focusing on our own problems. When we focus on others rather than self, many times we will find that insomnia, stress, anxiety, and other issues melt away as we help meet the needs of others. Kindness is a wonderful way to tell another soul…
…that there is love in the world!

Hi Debbie!
Use the code CROCHETCAUSE for the Ravelry downloads, and it should discount it to free!
This looks great, I want to be more proficient with my crochet skills and have my effects improve the comfort of others!
